There is a beautiful photograph in
Joyce Tenneson’s book Wise Women of China Chow and her mother. China
is wearing a dress by Yves Saint Laurent that reveals the form of
her body including her nipples and naval. The dress is exquisite and
I wish I had one that was custom made for me. However, as a
mastectomy survivor my dress would challenge our ideas of beauty,
sexuality and wholeness.
